pics from Nina and Uncle D's

Nina and Uncle D's!

Last night we went out to Dennis and Anna's for dinner... yummo!!! Dennis cooked his first ever boston butt and we had bbq... it was fantastic! Little Sawyer is getting so BIG and he's so precious; it's hard to believe my sweet girl was ever that little.

The girls were, of course, really cute too! They are finally big enough to play together! I think every time we hang out with them, Mc teaches Sadie some bad habit. Last time it was squealing. This time, it was running around the house like their hair was on fire. Hilarious! I've attached a video for you to watch (you may want to turn the sounds down, it's REALLY loud) and I'm sure you saw the pics above, enjoy!

Cupcakes!

We finally have our own little cupcake shop! It opened a few days ago, and Gimmy and Mc decided to test it out. Mc went with the Pretty Pink Princess of course... no really, that's it's name. Pink icing a mile high! I can't wait to go down and try it myself. Anyone want to join!??!?

Rockin' the Pigtails!

Mc's hair is FINALLY long enough for pigtails! I love it! She's worn them 3 times this week and they are so precious. She calls them dog ears b/c she was complaining and pulling on them the first time I put them in, and I told her they were like Utah's ears. She's loved them ever since. Anyway, thought I'd share a few pictures of her in them!

Still Obsessed

When PBS made changes to their schedule this season, Teletubbies was no longer on during Mc's viewing time. I hoped this would help her to forget about these weird little creatures and focus on something a little cooler, a little more educational. She has gotten into these new shows, Sid the Science Kid, Super Y, and Clifford. So, I thought, ahh, finally, no more Lala Po.

Then, I asked what she wanted to be for Halloween. "Lala, Po"... um what? Pick something else kid. So, she decided on a horse. Not my first choice, I like princesses and barbies, but hey, a horse is pretty cool, and she'll be precious... so, a horse costume we bought.

In the midst of looking though, I ran across a teletubbies costume on ebay for 3.00. (Probably b/c they can't give them away!) Anyway, I thought it would be a nice little treat for her since she loves them so much. And, it's just for dress up at home, so who cares, right?!?!? It came in yesterday and when I opened the package she started dancing around and jumping up and down. She put it on as soon as we got home and wouldn't take it off until bedtime. She kept calling herself Lala Mc-Mc-Ne. SO precious.

I have to say that although I despise them, they bring her so much joy, I just don't know if I can cut them out of her life forever. I'm such a pushover!

The Heritage Ball

This year's Heritage Ball was much more sedate than last year's. Daren will not require surgery afterwards like he did last year. So, I guess that's a good thing! There was a little dancing from the Phillips this year, but it was miserably hot and we were with more of my work people than friends.

Still, it is always fun to have a night out with free food, drinks, and dancing. I had been foul for two days, so I needed to get out. Here are a few pics from the evening.

Going Private!

Hey Guys! I think I'm taking the blog private. I've got too many randoms on my site meter and I don't know where they are coming from. If you like seeing the blog and you want me to add you to my "friend" list, just shoot me an email at darenandrachel@bellsouth.net and I'll get you all set up.

Thanks!

Memphis Con't

Sorry, I couldn't fit all the pics on the one blog

Memphis

Over the Labor Day weekend, Daren, Mc and I went to Memphis to visit friends. The friends we stayed with have a daughter Mc's age and they had a blast giggling and playing for 3 days! Just to give you a little run down: Arrive Friday night, we eat and the kiddos play for a while and go to bed.

Up Saturday morning, a little breakfast and we head for the playground! After that, the children's meseum; which, if you are ever in Memphis, take your kiddos, it is unbelievable! Then, they played outside (I'll have to post the video of them in the John Deere, It is hilarious) until Miss Velma arrived so the mommies and daddies could have a little adult time.

Sunday we got up, had pancakes and the girls played for a while. They took early naps and then Kim and I took them to see Sesame Street Live. That, in itself, was worth the whole trip! Mc was so excited about seeing Elmo. But, the whole cast was there. I 'm not sure she even blinked the entire hour and a half. She and Emily clapped and danced and held hands to every song. It was precious! She ate a whole bag of gotten candy, got a big Elmo balloon and some spinny thing she loved. In fact, she's still talking about it. That night, they played outside past dark and went to bed late, and she loved every minute of it!

Monday morning we got up and met my friend Betsy and her kids for breakfast. Mc loved that too! It is so great that she loves being around other children so much. It also makes me proud that she is such a sweet gentle child. She loves on others and is alwasy kind. It may not always be that way, but this weekend I was so proud of her and felt honored that she's mine!

Anyway, these are obviously several pictures from the weekend. I tried to pic just a few, but got a little carried away!
