First Day of School
Today was Mc's first day of school. I'd like to say it was a sweet sentimental time that I'll remember forever. Me standing at the door, her begging me not to leave, me telling her I love her and will be back... I always come back.
But, nope, that's not how it went. We walked through the doors, she took off running to her room (we had been there yesterday for an open house) and never looked back. Seriously. She never even looked to see if I was there. No goodbyes, no I love you mamas. Just a little body language to say, later on lady who drives me, come back or don't.
Hmm, oh well, atleast I don't feel guilty for leaving her!
What do you think?
So, I got all my hair cut off due to an over bleach from my last stylist. (My hair was just dried out and snapping off like crazy!) Not that I had any choice, but what do you think?
I can't get used to it. Bangs, seriously? I haven't had those in 10 years! It's a little more punk rock than I am too.
I'd love to have your opinions. I know at this point, I can't do anything to change it, but if it's bad, I won't do it again!!!

Seriously?
As Ann Elizabeth's mama would say, "I mean, are you kidding me?!?!?"
This is Mc and her friend Ann Elizabeth at dinner tonight "texting" on their daddy's blackberrys. How freakin' scary is that?
First of all, shouldn't they be playing barbie or something?
Secondly, are we that engrossed in our own tech gadgets that my two year old daughter should know what to do with one?

Too Precious Not to Post
Life Group Social
Our class has been having monthly socials this summer and it has been so fun. This is a pic of several of the kids eating last night (see Mc furthest away from the camera?)
They are all so cute, AND LOUD, but they always have such a good time together.
It feels so good to be involved with a good group of Christian friends again!
Potty Training Disaster
SO, we decided it was time for Mc to potty train, and by we I mean I... Daren swore she wasn't ready... he was right. It was a complete disaster. And without going into much detail, we'll just say she didn't quite grasp the concept, and we've decided we're going to just put the potty away and try again in a few months!

Potty Time
I think we're about ready to potty train. Mc has asked to go to the bathroom 3 times in the last two days, and two of those times she's gone. (Needless to say I lost my mind... who knew you could get so excited about tinkle?)
It just came out of nowhere... I thought she was that kid that would never be ready. She can walk around in a poopy diaper all night and it never bother her. But lately, she's been telling me after she goes and laying down so I can change her. Then, she's told me she needed to tinkle twice, so I think she's there.
Anybody have any tricks or hints to offer before we start? I'm a little scared!!!
Playing with Deda
Here are some cute moments that I've caught in the last week. Mc loves for her Deda to play with her.
In these pictures, she's being quite bossy; she says "dance deda!" and "ite deda" (which means write what I tell you too, Deda) and of course, he does it.
I especially love the red bow she's asked him to wear...

Popsicle Party!
Llama Llama Red Pajama
Well, McHaney got to meet one of her storybook heroes this weekend... kind of. Gimmy and PawPaw took her to the Williamson County Fair Friday night.
Somehow, she got in her head she was going to see llama llama there. (For those of you who don't have toddlers, Llama Llama is a two book series by author Anne Dewdney. They are absolutely Mc's favorites, and I have to say I'm a little partial to them myself.) She just kept talking about llama llama the whole afternoon, luckily the fair did not disappoint.
She was able to see, llamas and camels (pictured at left), a goose that apparently scared her to death, chickens, she got to ride a pony, and probably ate her weight in hot dogs. I was a little tenative about her going. The only fair I know anything about is the fair at the fairgrounds, and it's scary! But, apparently, this one was pretty nice, not crowded, well managed, and she had an absolute blast! It was the first time she's ever really come home from something and been able to communicate her excitement somewhat.
So, thanks Gimmy and PawPaw, it was a blast!
Meow
Mc has developed a recent attachment to this stuffed cat the Seester and Andrew gave her when she had her heart surgery.
She calls him meow... creative, right?
We can't go anywhere without it. If we get in the car and she doesn't have it, she asks "Ah Meow" (which translated means, where's my cat) the ENTIRE time... and I mean the WHOLE time we are in the car.
At least he's soft and cuddly. Although, after washing him last week, he went to the fair Friday night and the farmer's market Saturday. He is now covered in cheese, dirt and I'm pretty sure dum dum sucker.
You should also note the pink he's wearing. Mc found those in her 0-3 month box while I was going through it for Jaclyn. She was adament he wear them... thus, the cats been wearing pink nikes.

Mary Michael
Miss Mary Michael was born to Adam and Jaclyn at 12:49 pm today. She is beautiful and perfect and Mommy and baby are both doing well. She weighed in at 6lbs, 9 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. My camera battery was dead, of course, but I'll take pics tomorrow and post them.
YEAH!!!!

Franklin Farmer's Market
This morning Mc and I woke up and headed out to meet cousin Mandi for a little shopping at the local farmer's market. It has been going on for a couple of years, but today was my first venture. (I usually go to the one downtown just because I forget about the one here.)
Anyway, it was awesome! Tons of fruits and veggies, which you expect, but also meat, breads, desserts, cheeses, flowers, milk, the list goes on and on. You could pretty much do all your grocery shopping there... if you're willing to pay. It's a little pricey... although, I was happy to pay $5 a pint for the best blueberries I've ever put in my mouth. In fact, I bought 2!!!!
If any of you have been questioning going, it is a must do... just maybe not in this heat. As you can imagine, it was pretty warm. You might want to wait until September! :)
